It's a Windup! Gramophone parties - Entertainment with a Difference!

I have a number of period wind-up gramophones and a collection of several hundred shellac disks from 1898 to 1958. I can bring you your favourite hits, and those of your parents and grandparents, and you can hear them in their original format on machines of the time, as they were first heard.

What to Listen To?

Most of my records are 1930 to 1955. I have big band swing, some classical, some comedy like the “Goons”, jigs and reels, blues and more. Benny Goodman, Glen Miller, the Andrews Sisters, Artie Shaw, Al Johnson…I’ve got all the big names…but is there something you want me to search my library for? And if I find it, will you tell me why it’s an important piece of music? I can come mornings, or afternoons or evenings. I usually do 2 hour stints, but I can give you enough music for an evening party or dance. Great for theme and period parties. Can be combined with a Victorian 3D party for a time travelling event.

I DO NOT sell my records.

Many of my records are donated. They have spent years in a loft or garage entertaining no one.
But consider if you donate even a single record, it will entertain groups nearly everyday for years.

“It’s a wind up! The music was fab, such a change to the usual music played at community events – such a wonderful sound! It brought a lot of intrigue as a lot of people hadn’t seen anything like it before.”

Kirsty, Community Development Worker, The Millin Charity

“I want to take the opportunity to thank Justin for helping add the WOW factor to a ‘Great Gatsby’ themed wedding with his awesome gramophones. This was a great surprise for the bride and groom, and really added impact to the theme. Justin shows real passion for this genre of music as well as a wealth of knowledge too. I would recommend Justin to anyone wanting to add some authenticity to events relating to the 1920’s onwards, where they are looking for authentic music from the era.”

Thank you from Jane Morland and Margaret Rose Events.

“Justin was recommended to us by our other companies home. We booked in for the one hour ‘taster session’. Justin was brilliant in explaining every small detail to the residents. It was brilliant and rewarding to see how the residents interacted throughout the afternoon. We will definitely be booking more afternoons. Thank you once again from everyone at Foxton Court”
